"Funding Organisational Development: Agency, Trust, and Co-creation for Resilient Organisations" Publication Launch

Organisational Development Community of Practice

The Organisational Development Community of Practice will host an online launch of the new publication “Funding Organisational Development: Agency, Trust and Co-creation for Resilient Organisations” on 29 September.

At a time when civil society organisations are navigating funding instability, increasing complexity and growing pressure to adapt, organisational development support is becoming more important than ever.

The new publication, developed through the collective experience and learning of the Organisational Development Community of Practice, is designed for funders who seek to enhance how they support organisational development (OD) of their grantee partners with an equity lens. It offers practical guidance to help funders design and implement approaches to OD that are coherent, values-aligned, and grounded in partner agency, trust and long-term resilience.

This launch will combine an introduction to key insights with opportunities to consider their application in philanthropic practice. During the session, participants will be introduced to the guide’s main ideas and invited to reflect on what meaningful organisational development support looks like in practice. The conversation will explore how funders can move beyond one-off or narrowly technical interventions towards more holistic approaches that respond to an organisation’s context, priorities and readiness for change.

The session will give participants an opportunity to engage with the guide’s content in a practical way. Together, they will work through one of its exercises, to explore different levels and forms of support and consider where their own approach currently sits. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how the guide can be used within their organisations, as well as questions and ideas to support further reflection, discussion and action.
